Friday Fives: Christmas List Edition

 Just Me and My Life

This week flew by!
I'm seriously hoping the weekend doesn't fly by...
because we have something fantastic planned!

But since it's Friday,
it's time to link up with Beth over at Just Me and My Life.
And this week we're talking about our Christmas List!

So, Mom and Danny...I know you are reading this,
I hope this answers the
"what do you want for your birthday and Christmas?" question.
I can't wait to see what everyone else wants!

1) Growing up we had a camp in Maine. My parents had this awesome Bathroom Guest Book. I used to love flipping through it to see what their friends would write while going to the bathroom. It was pretty funny! I think it would be so cool to have one...being in different duty stations with it would be fun! I found this one on Amazon.
They had this in the bathroom too. And it's SO true! This is over at Etsy

2) Moving out of the bathroom and into the kitchen! I have a weird obsession with pigs in my  kitchen....maybe because it reminds me if I eat that much I'll get that big! This would be a pretty comical addition to my kitchen! Found on Etsy!

Going along with the pig theme, I love this too! Also on Etsy.

I got a flier in the mall the other day about this cookbook. I want to make the tacoritos! You can find it here.

3) I currently hate every bag I own! I think this bag would make me happy! Etsy, of course.

And I think this wallet would look super cute with it!

4) I really like this necklace from Melissa's Jewelry and Accessories.

And this bracelet is SUPER cute too!

5) I really really want a nice camera. I love the camera that fits in my back pocket, but  I want something else too...for really good pictures. I've kinda had my eye on this one. It's a little pricey...

If all else fails...I love gift certificates from Anthropologie, World Market and Forever 21!

Friday Fives: Remembering 9/11

Just Me and My Life

Today the topic is a little different.
Instead of listing items that we want or are in love with,
we are listing the
Five Things We Remember about September 11, 2001

 1. Location
Growing up we always heard the stories of where our parents where the day Kennedy was shot. This is our "where were you..." day. It was the beginning of my sophomore year. I was in gym class, but for some reason we didn't have to get changed into gym clothes that day. I remember sitting on the bleachers chatting with my friends when we heard a rumor that a plane hit a building. I don't remember my initial thoughts, I probably didn't take it seriously. Math was my next class, we had a TV in that room. D Block was our longest period, I watched the entire day unfold in my math class.

2. My Sister
Michelle stayed home sick that day. I don't know why, but whenever I think of September 11th I always think of this. My boyfriend at the time went over to check on her after he saw what happened on the news. I remember I didn't find that out until way after 9/11.

3. My Thoughts
I was scared. So scared that I didn't go to school for a long time after September 11th. I was paranoid, loud noises scared me. I couldn't sleep alone, I had to have my Mom sleep with me. Even if I had a friend sleepover, I would crawl into bed with Mom and Dad. Yes, I was a sophomore in high school and I was sleeping with my parents. I got a weird package in the mail, I was convinced it was anthrax. When planes started flying again, I jumped. My first "outing" after 9/11 was to the  mall....the loud noises from the Rainforest Cafe scared the SHIT out of me. I believe that September 11 changed me. I became paranoid and nervous, and to this day I still deal with some of these things.

4.Word Search
Nothing could keep my mind off of that day. I stayed at my great-grandmothers house during the day. She had an old word search puzzle that I found. It was the only thing that could keep my mind off everything. I just remember sitting for hours on Nana's couch doing those puzzles and hoping that the news wouldn't interrupt the soap operas.

5. Music
Suddenly everyone was patriotic. The radio stations only played patriotic music. I think until that day I didn't realize how many patriotic songs there actually were. My favorites? Of course, Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA." And for some reason, I really like this one

What do you remember?

Friday Fives: My Fridge

Just Me and My Life

This week over at Just Me and My Life
everyone wants to see what you keep in your fridge!

First...here's the fridge!
Notice, nothing is kept on the bottom half of the fridge. If Miley can see it, she will steal it! Notice, Katie and Frank's Save the Date..and ours is still up there too! Kaleb's drawings are on display, my calendar, coupons, dog emergency numbers and military prayers.

One: Mustard
We always have lots of mustard. After I took the picture I found a blue cheese mustard too! I use Dijon in almost every recipe, from mac and cheese to different dressings. It's one of my few essential cooking ingredients!

Two: Hot Sauce
We usually have the red tabasco, but we must have finished it! Hot sauce is good on everything!

Three: Cheese
This is a pretty boring week for cheese around here, I'm only planning to make Chicken Parmesan. I love cheese, all kinds. I think blue cheese and feta are my favorites. It's possible that my mouth just started watering!

Four: Pudding
Pudding is one of our newer obsessions. We bought one flavor one week...and now we have five. They are a super cheap snack, only $1! Danny likes all the weird flavors (Cinnamon Bun!) but my favorite is the chocolate and vanilla layers. Mmmmm!

Five: Omaha Steaks
We always have awesome Omaha Steak products! Right now we have some bacon wrapped sirloins, pork tenderloin, catfish, artichoke stuffed chicken, and prime rib. So so yummy!

What do you always have in your fridge?
Go link up!

Friday Fives: My Dream Home

Just Me and My Life

Do you constantly daydream about your dream home?
If you do, head over to Beth's blog and link up!

I think my dream house in in a mythical place.
It's in the country, but close enough to the city that it's not in the middle of no where.

Kitchen
I love the mix-matched colors, the storage, the island...this is not a want, this is a need.

Bedroom
It just screams "clean, crisp and cool." How could you have a bad night in that room!?

Living Room
I love the color of the walls! I would light a fire, read a book and drink some tea!

Bathroom
I love that tub! Mine would have an added shower head, because I actually hate taking baths!

Mancave
Danny and his friends can hangout here, check out the mini cinema! And the bar! They would love it!

(I can't stop at just five, my house is incomplete!)
Front Porch

A welcoming front porch! I can totally picture pumpkins in the fall and Christmas lights in the winter!

Library
I love the white bookcase, shows off all the books!

Patio
A mix of both would be perfect!

Show Me Your Friday Five

Today at Kelly's Korner everyone wants to see your China! I have a china collection, all teacups...but it's at my parent's house. I wish it was here so I could take some pictures! But instead, I'll show you the China that I want to have someday! (for decorations...not to eat off of!)

Click here to see the entire collection!

Beth at Just Me and My Life wants to know the Five People I Would Want to Eat Lunch With. Her post was great, and not just because it was so Anderson Cooper heavy!
1. The Beatles. In 1965. When they were young, hip and gorgeous. I would have them serenade me while we ate hamburgers (George's favorite!) We would laugh a lot. And talk about where they wanted their music to go. We would become great friends and then I would joke with them when their music went in the complete opposite direction!

2. Hitler. Yes, that Hitler. He was an evil, evil man. But he changed the world. I'd be a little mean at our lunch though...he was a non-smoker and vegetarian, so we would go to a smoker-friendly steakhouse. But I would ask him serious questions about his views on everything.

3. No joke, I love Steve Irwin. I may have shed a tear when he died. He did so much for animals and the world and yet he was the butt of so many jokes. I would have him invite his beautiful family for lunch. They seem like type who would invite me over and do all the cooking. And they would, of course, show off their animals. I would tell him not to swim with stingrays and that I could see the future. He would listen to me.

4. I would invite Michael Buble over for lunch. But we wouldn't eat. You can use your imagination on that one!

5. The entire cast of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. They would take me to all the kickass bars in New York City and they would take me on the crime scenes. I would solve the case!
