J.Crew & YesStyle Snow Day Outfits

I picked up this J.Crew tee on final sale this week (several colors in XXS left at my local stores) and am trying to pair the gold with everything. An XXS fit me perfectly, but it's stretching out a little with each wear. Hopefully a wash and dry will shrink it back down to size.

Tee: J.Crew Perfect Fit BoatneckTee in XXS (buy here for $9)
Wool Skirt: YesStyle "The Mari" brand size S/55
Cable Tights: Heritage 1981 sz S/M (buy here)
Booties: Target sz 5.5

I can't find this exact skirt on YesStyle anymore, but here is an affordable option (it's available in one size SMALLER than the one I'm wearing!). I'm interested in getting this in ivory or gray, but what is that little "hand-made" tag on the front? I sure hope it is removable.

As for sizing, the skirt I own in size S/55 fits like an XXS, but every brand may fit differently. Be sure to check the provided measurements. If you are ordering, code EXTRAPETITE gives you $5 off.

Thanks to a tweet by the thoughtful Vicky, I picked up a second Lady Day Coat in the "cobblestone" color - a dark, taupe gray. It's quite boring given the spectrum of colors that their coats come in, but it's...me.  I don't need two, so after some deliberation I'm selling my olive green Lady Day Coat in 0P with Thinsulate (see review and measurements). Email me if you're interested.

Here is a tip to add some color to a neutral winter coat - a vivid silk scarf! I know silk scarves rarely come out in the winter but I couldn't resist. After some trial and error, I settled on the following method:
cobblestone4
1. Using one hand, tuck one end of the scarf securely into your coat.
cobblestone5
2. Using the other hand, cross the other end until it overlaps, and then tuck it securely under.
cobblestone6
3. Fluff. End result:

(buy here - 0P gone in regular but left in Thinsulate)
Silk Scarf: thrifted

The sales are still going strong at petite-favorite retailers. I've recently had luck in-store at LOFT and J.Crew (additional 50% off sale items at both). Here's a pic of a top I just picked up at LOFT which I adore for tucking into skirts, and here's the tag info ($15). Happy shopping!

Review: J.Crew Double Cloth Lady Day Coat in Petite 0

**The winner of my favorite things giveaway is: AubreyOhDang! Congrats!**

In honor of the J.Crew sale this weekend (25% off and free ship for orders over $150 with code PRESENTS) I wanted to get this review out for you guys. I haven't had a chance to catch up on blogs, respond to comments or emails yet, but will do that later this weekend : )

I tried to touch on everything in the video, but please let me know if you have any questions. Here are the measurements of a 0P: 14.5" across the shoulders, 17" across the armpits, 14" across the waist band, 33" total length, and 21" sleeve length (I mistakenly said 20" in the video). To see this same coat on another petite, visit Cynthia at Shorty Stories (she is about 5'2").

There is a *really* close version of this ring online in coral and cream. I must go hunt for the coral!
Polish is Essie "Hot Coco" courtesy of my lovely secret santa ; )

Coat: Petite Double Cloth Lady Day Coat in 0P
Shoes: Tory Burch sz 5, Ring: Forever 21 sz 6, Earrings: NYC market Tights: Forever 21 one size

**See this coat reviewed on another petite (smaller than me), Alterations Needed.

Cascading Flutter Shell in XXS regular:

Top: Cascading Flutter Shell in XXS regular
Jeans: Gap legging jeans in "dark rinse" sz 00P, Booties: Target Mossimo sz 6

Overall this tank was a comfortable fit, and I can see myself wearing it with jeans or tucked into pencil skirts. Originally only the green was on sale, but all colors are on sale now! Great little filler to get the free shipping. And I promise...my olive kick is officially over : )

LOFT Coat and Stackable Sweaters Sale

I saw on twitter that LOFT is having a one day sale tomorrow, in-stores only. Three of their winter coats will be on sale for $75:

- Military Melton Coat (smallest is 00 Petite), regularly $188, so that's 60% off!
- Twill Officer Coat (smallest is 00 Regular), regularly $188.
- Wool Twill Swing Coat (smallest is XXS Petite), regularly $148, pictured below:

This coat comes in black or "light melange blue" which in real life is a light gray with specks of pastel colors - pretty! The material is heavy, and I liked the pocket placement and the nifty back detail. Although the swing style is not supposed to be snug, the shoulders and sleeve width were a tad roomy on me (for reference I am 5 ft, 94lbs). My only other nitpicky complaint was that the buttons were a little big for the XXSP. See this same coat and more on Vicky here.

Another sale that ends tomorrow both online and in-stores is their buy one get one 50% off sweater deal. After some researching & testing, this deal is stackable with EBATES25 for an extra 25% off, plus you can get 3% cashback through ebates (sign up here). The last time I posted about stackable coupons, they stopped working the next day! So act fast if you plan on picking up a few sweaters : ) Here's what I tried on:

I thought this was pricey, but it does have a lot of detailing plus it's heavy enough to be a jacket for West-coasters. An XXSP was not as snug on me as I had hoped for a sweater jacket, but I'm interested in seeing it on someone a size up! Edit: Check it out on Gigi here and MiniMaestra here.
Ah, this cardi caught my eye a while back - I just adore how it's styled on the model. Please try to excuse my gray thermal as it really takes away from the chicness of this cardigan. I love the dolman sleeves, I love the pockets, plus the material was super cozy to boot. I'm just not sure if I can pull off an oversized cocoon on my frame...what do you guys think? Does it look sloppy, or chic?

On an unrelated note, I started a facebook page a while back as another way to interact with readers. It's been really fun meeting some non-bloggers and actually putting faces to names (shoutouts to Michelle, Kandice, Kellie, and more). Show some love on my page if you "like" reading Extra Petite : )
