Happy Reports to Start the Month off Right!

Let's kick this month off right! First I want to give you a report on the money raised this last month. Unfortunately none of the pieces in the Breast Cancer Awareness sections sold, so I didn't end up raising any money this year for BCA - BUT, I didn't finish my big piece until the very end of the month and this necklace will be staying in my store, dedicated to BCA, until it sells!

The good news is that, through my two on-line shops, my two consignment stores, and in person sales, I had the best month I think I've had all year! As a result I've raised $17 to donate to the local homeless shelter this month. I'm very excited about that! I look forward to raising more money for them this month.

I will be talking more about my plans in my newsletter when it goes out in the next day or two, but I have a bazaar coming up, and I might be getting a third consignment store, more on that later!

If your not on my newsletter list already, just send me an e-mail at roseworksjewelry@gmail.com and ask me to add you to the list. I only send it out once a month :)

Did you know that Novemeber is Epilepsy Awareness month? Purple is the color they've chosen to represent their cause, and as we all know, it's my favorite color! One of my team mates is working to raise awareness and she chose my Spirit Walker Necklace in this treasury she did dedicated to Epilepsy Awareness.

And lastly - as if this post isn't long enough - I've been trying to find the time to list the occasional new item or relist items that are expiring! I've been busy, busy, busy, so I'm not sure where I've squeezed it in, but apparently I have because here's a new set of 9 to show off! You know the drill, tell my your favorite and earn an extra entry into my Top Commentators contest!

Showing off Bead Work...

...And not just mine! But we'll get to that in a moment :)

I've been planning since last mont to make a special piece just for breast cancer awareness. I even got started on it at the beginning of the month! Then I ran out of beads... BUT I've finally finished it!

I have a new bust for my necklaces! Now I just need to work on a real light box so I can get brighter and better pictures...

Anyway, this necklace can be found both on Etsy and on Artfire and will be dedicated permenantly to Breast Cancer Awareness. This will be the only item in my shop left dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness after the month is over. 50% of it's sale will go to the Susan G. Komen fund.

Now to show off my friends! Christina of Good Quill Hunting put together an incredible You Tube video of the members of our Bead Weaving Team. It's long - but worth watching!

Crafty ADD Update #12

Last week was really busy getting ready for my bazaar - but I still got some crafting done!

Crochet

I'm officially half-way done with the baby blanket! This is going to be my main project for the next couple weeks, because if it isn't, I won't have it done in time for the baby shower! That would just be sad eh? I think I can do it if I focus :)

Cross-Stitch

This pretty much got abandoned all week as I prepared for bazaar, but I put in some time on it last night and this morning! Almost done with the out lining on the brain and then I'll fill it in :) I think this is going to be my last book mark for awhile, I have a bigger project in mind for a wedding next summer, but you'll have to wait until this one is done to find out about it!

Jewelry

I'm getting SO CLOSE on my piece for Breast Cancer Awareness! Unfortunately I ran out of delica's :( Since I originally ordered them on-line I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get them here in town or if I'll have to order more on-line. I'm also not sure when I'll be able to figure it out. *sigh* I might not get to finish this during BCA month! Oh well, I have a lot of other small ideas I can work on, but it's still frustrating. At least I was already planning on dedicating this to BCA permanently - so it will still be a fund raiser even after the month is over!

Crafty ADD Update #11

I was planning on putting this post up yesterday, I really was! But I sat down at my computer after working on many other projects (getting ready for my bazaar!), and then my hubby came home... Isn't it amusing how hubbies can totally derail your plans? LOL

Crochet

I still have 5 rows to go...and the party is on the 24th! Yah...I gotta get on it :P But...considering I have the bazaar this weekend I figure I can focus on it more after the bazaar :)

Cross-Stitch

I'm having a lot of fun with this bookmark! I think the brain is developing nicely, don't you? Don't expect to work on it much this week, but I've said things like that before, so who knows?

Jewelry

Ok, I know that it's a little hard to see, but the beads are really light so it's hard to photograph! The color is called "pink lemonade." It's the beginning of a necklace I'm making for Breast Cancer Awareness. I'll do a 50% donation from the sale of it to the Susan G. Koman fund, and this is the one piece I plan on keeping as a donation piece after BCA month is over. :) Hoping to get it done and on-line this week. I want to have it at the bazaar :)

Going Pink for October!

Thankfully I've never had a close friend who's dealt with Breast Cancer, but I'm well aware that it's something that many women deal with at some point in their lives, and so every year I participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month in my shops. Last year I donated $15!

Both of my shops (Etsy and Artfire) have Breast Cancer Awareness sections. Any items bought from those sections will result in a 20% donation to the Susan G. Koman fund! Also, keep your eyes open for special items that will be put up through out the month that will have 100% of the proceeds donated to the Susan G. Koman fund!

Last month was also my first month raising funds for my local homeless shelter. I'm going to be continuing that this month! All purchases made that are NOT from the Breast Cancer Awareness sections will still result in a 10% donation to Open House Ministries.

Now for the fun part - I raised $6.90 for the local shelter this month! Woohoo! I'm going to raise that to an even $10 to send in. I'm really looking forward to what October will bring. I'm doing a bazaar next week and I never got paid from my consignment shop last month, so that might be extra big too. I don't know for sure. The owner was gone when I was finally able to go in and check in because her daughter had emergency surgery.
