Featured Tutorial: Make A Copper Charm Bracelet

I love charm bracelets. I like using chains because you can add as many charms as you like.

Here’s a very simple one that I made. I’ve used coral beads in square shapes and white Swarovski and a medium-sized heart pendant. To attach the coral beads and Swarovski I used headpins.

It’s really simple, but as I’ve said, you can make add more charms if you want to just like thisCopper Charm Bracelet from metallura blog.

Rebecca of metallura created this bracelet with the following materials:

chain and toggle clasp

copper jumprings

copper eyepins

flat nose pliers, chain nose pliers
and flush cutters

...and now, for the exciting part, follow this free tutorial for the Copper Charm Bracelet

To make spiral charms, you can use wire work techniques included in metallura blog or watch this free tutorial from WigJig compiled at DiyLessons.

Selecting Your Bridesmaids Earrings

There are so many different accessory options for your bridesmaids, but earrings are one of the main jewelry pieces a bridesmaid wears on the wedding day. While necklaces and bracelets can sometimes be tougher to select because they need to coordinate with the dress neck line and bracelets with gloves on occasion, earrings are not swayed by style factors as the others are. While there may be a specific style that would compliment a bridesmaids gown or a wedding style, in almost all cases, bridesmaids earrings are a very safe style choice.

When beginning your hunt for the right pair of bridesmaids earrings you want to first consider the color pallet you are trying to acheive. You may want to consider the the bridesmaids dress colors, their boquet colors and flowers and your wedding colors. The bridesmaids earrings should match your color pallet or compliment it. Finding a store that offers a wide variety of color choices is the smartest place to start. Swarovski brand pearls and crystals are both high quality but also highly vaste in their color selection choices. So finding a designer or store that uses Swarovski brand beads in all of their designs is a big factor to consider. Another key point to selecting the perfect color is to again, find a store or designer that will send you crystal and pearl color samples before you purchase your bridesmaids earrings. This is the best way to ensure that you're getting the exact colors you need to accessorize their look.

Once you've got your color pallet chosen for your bridesmaids jewelry, you can then move onto style. There are quite a few different style groups of earrings available. There's chandelier, cluster, cascade, drop, small drop, linear, chain and more. With so many options, you'll have to consider all of your options. Not all bridesmaids may feel comfortable wearing the same style earring. One bridesmaid may want a more understated look, while another may want all the glitz and drama. You do not have to get the same pair of earrings for each bridesmaid, you can fun with this part. How? You stay to the same color pallet, but pick a different style for each girl. As long as you keep your color choices consistent, then the different styles will just add flavor and interest to their uniqueness.

If you've already chosen to give bridesmaid jewelry as your "thank you" gift for your bridesmaids, then they will love you for it. Jewelry is something that can both be cherished and worn repeatedly to accessorize anything. Giving the gift of jewelry is a nice way to say thank you with a gift that keeps on giving.

Bridal Jewelry to Match Your Wedding Gown

Don't miss a post! Subscribe to Handmade Jewelry Club by Email FREE

The final accessories that match perfectly with your wedding gown are the bridal necklace, earrings, bracelet and hair accessories. Picking the right combination that works well with your bridal gown is the key to finishing off your bridal look.

Whether you are having a huge fancy wedding or a small gathering, finding the right final touches will add that extra sparkle and sophistication to look pulled together and complete.

A great place to start determining what bridal jewelry you will wear is to look at the fabric of your bridal gown. Are you wearing a traditional white gown, ivory and cream or another unique color? Does your gown have a colorful sash or embroidery details that those colors can be included into your bridal jewelry? These are the things to begin considering on your hunt for the right jewelry. Once you’ve determined your colors, you are set for the next step.

Look at your gown for embellishments. Are there rhinestones, pearls, crystals or bows on your gown? These are all details that can be of good use and guidance while selecting your bridal jewelry. If your gown has rhinestones on it, you may want to consider wearing bridal jewelry that also has rhinestones. The same goes for pearls, crystals, bows, ruffles and more.

After you’ve determined your colors and your materials to be included into your wedding jewelry, the next step is picking out which pieces you will want to include in your look. Some brides like to wear bracelets, necklaces, earrings and hair accessories all together. While other brides may only want a pair of earrings and a necklace. This is totally a personal style issue and it’s good narrow down what you like and what will work with your bridal gown.

Once you’ve determined the actual pieces you want the shopping can begin. If you’re looking for earrings, pick something that both compliments your bridal gown as well as your own personal style. If you like a more dramatic flair, chandelier bridal earrings may be just your right fit. If you are more understated and want a simpler look, standard drop earrings might get the job done.

When it comes to selecting your necklace style, you really must consider the neckline of your bridal gown. If you have a halter top, almost any style necklace will work, but if your gown wraps around your neck, a necklace might not be the right accessory for you. Whether you want your necklace to drape over your bridal gown, or just kiss the top of the neckline, find a fit that is perfect. A custom bridal jewelry designer can accomplish this task for you and it’s your wedding, so don’t settle for something that’s not perfect for you.

If you have no idea what styles you really want to wear or would look good with your bridal gown, consider all of your options. Take a friend with you to try on your gown and then whether you shop in stores or online, she can help you pick out a style that will match your gown perfectly while still reflecting your style.

We all know that once the wedding is over, the dress and shoes go away to be preserved. The wedding jewelry doesn’t have to. Of course you won’t be wearing that tiara again anytime soon, but the earrings, necklace and bracelet that you pick out can be worn for other special and formal occasions.
