Featured Design: Double Ribbon Washer Necklace

Meet Becca, a wife, a mother of three and the creative mind behind Blue Cricket Design. She has made her blogging, a way to enjoy the days in her pajama and being with family. She loves crafts from sewing, to refurnishing furniture, to baking and being in the kitchen, and making jewelries. Becca has her own style that makes her crafts and she herself, different, which she totally loves.

In our previous posts on washer jewelries, we have featured how to make washer necklace and that was a cool stuff, but here is Becca’s own version of a washer necklace.

I think with Becca’s idea, we can use different colors of ribbons and laces, and tie them all together. We can use the color of the ribbon or necklace to go with our outfit, don’t you think? I bet this would also look good using a slimmer size of leather cord.

Can’t wait to try it out? Head over to Blue Cricket Design. Becca has shared a video tutorial on how to make the Double Ribbon Washer Necklace.

If you’ve missed our previous washer necklace feature tutorials here’s the link to revisit the post.

Fun To Make Washer Necklaces!

What are these? They’re washers, actually, and they’re typically disc-shaped with a hole in the middle. I’ve seen some washers with big holes and some are smaller. I thought washers are only used for hardware purposes but there are lots of talented artisans who have used washers in jewelry making and I have found some easy and fun tutorials for you, readers of Handmade Jewelry Club to follow.

You will notice, LeAnne has a glassy effect like a gem. Some of the washers also were embellished with stones. Not only that, she also added spacer beads on the cord for additional accent. All in all it looks real funky and stylish.

LeAnne has used scrapbook paper and you can also use plain paper, but it will not have that glossy effect. So, to learn how LeAnne made her washer necklace look glassy, visit her free tutorial found at DUDLEYCHICK DESIGNS.

Let’s go over to Le Chateau des fleurs and learn how Frenchy designed her washer necklace.

Frenchy made her washer necklace real cute by adding charms and that’s what made her version different. She had gotten the idea of adding charms relating to your party and her samples were from a Fairy Party.

The steps in making a washer necklace are really simple. You just need to cut your paper or scrapbook paper, glue it on the washer and string a cord. But to make your washer necklace really different you can add beads, ribbons, or maybe letter charms can do, using the first letter of your name just like what LeAnne and Frenchy did. Just play with your creative mind!
