Handmade Jewelry Club's Charity Drive

I have always wanted to do my fair share of charity to contribute back to the society. Nicolekiss in her blog says ‘I believe in life, we have to give in order to want. What comes around goes around, and whatever you give out, will eventually come back to you, in one form or the other. Karma, they call it’. A young girl like Nicole is calling for charity, perhaps we the jewelry makers can also contribute by selling our handmade jewelries for good cause.

In my call to help single mothers earlier, Felicia New responded and indicated her interest to participate in the charity drive together. In fact, Felicia has already started BEADPACS, a community service project, aiming to raise fund for a good course. That was how Felicia and I got to know each other. After sourcing for a few charity organizations, we thought we could add value to an organization called Women’s Aid Organization as we may either contribute by ways of fund raising or organizing skill based training for women from WAO. Furthermore, WAO has an urgent appeal as they have only 6 months of funding left. So every donation counts.

Are you keen to join us for the charity drive? What you need to do is to list your creations here and label your post as Charity Sale for WAO. You may specify percentage of proceed that will go for charity in the post. After selling the creation, you should then update the post and thank the buyer as way to recognize their donations.

The charity drive will run till 31 March 2009. On 4th April, we should then meet together and bring our funds to WAO's centre. I have no clue how much money we will raise, but when a gift is given, whether big or small, it makes a world of difference.
