How to have fun with your Clay Extruder

Fast - Autos.net

This is a Clay Extruder. You can buy them online. There’s a lot of online stores that sell clay extruders. I’ve read an article on eHow for Handmade Clay Extruder so if you’re interested on experimenting and make your own clay extruder, visit eHow and learn how to.

…but this is not about making handmade clay extruder, but how to use and have fun making clay creations using the tool like these beautiful beads from Polymer Art Archive

With the clay extruder you’ll be able to make strands of clays perfect for mille fiori. The disc that comes with the extruders also has different shapes so you’ll be able to make long strands of clays at different shapes. You can create big or chunky strands of clay similar to a rope and create a bangle or bracelets.

Extruded Bracelets

This is from Polyform. You may wonder how Polyform created a perfect round shape, you need a soda can to help form the bracelet. If you like to try it out follow this free tutorial. You can also join Polyform and get involved in the community; share, learn and be featured at Polyform.

To get more tips on how to create using clay extruders you can watch this video from Crafty Goat and learn how to make coiled extruder beads.

Before working on your clay, you need to condition it so watch this free tip on conditioning polymer clay from Jewelry Art Magazine Associate Editor, Jill Erickson.

Making Bake-able Beads from Craft Clays

You can make bake-able beads from many different types of craft clay. For easy at home jewelry making you will want to get oven-bake hardening clay.

This makes for a fun project anyone can enjoy. Pick some clay of colors you want to use and pull off a small bit of each or just one color.

Try rolling the clay into balls and shapes to make the clay softer and workable. This step will also help you get some ideas on bead shapes. Once you have made the clay workable you can take just one, or many, colors and begin to mix them into patterns.

Laying clays on top of one another or twisting strings of colors together are some favorite methods of color combining. After you have made the blotched color combination you desire, roll out the clay wad into a string the width you want the beads to become.

Cut off pieces and roll them into shapes or leave them and poke holes through them. Once the clay has spent the appropriate amount of time in the oven, you can cool, sting, and wear your great creations.

Food of Fashion

As I was preparing for breakfast, I browsed online for recipes that wouldn’t take that long to cook and that is very easy to cook. I stumbled upon this website that caters to food fans like me. However, this particular website doesn’t serve edible food. They sell wearable food. Yes, that’s right, food that you can wear. Check this out: Bistrobling! Bistro Bling offers a wide range of jewelry collection from breakfast, lunch, dessert. Oh wait, yes, they offer jewelry with food blings so when I say breakfast menu, I say jewelries with bacon and eggs, pancakes and bagel blings.

They also have French fries, ham and cheese sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwich and many more lunch date foods. For dessert, they have carrot cake earrings, cherry pie pins, banana pendants and a lot more. Visit their website for more fun and mouth watering items.

Hot Dog Earrings

You can also find yummy pieces in Roscata. They also offer a wide collection of jewelries and accessories from earrings to hair pins, from hotdog sandwiches to sweet cakes. Here are some snips from their websites.

How To Use Polymer Clay To Make Cane Beads... Part 1

I bought some polymer clays and experiment to make some beads myself... It was fun but can definitely be better. So I searched for some videos on the web and found some useful ones. I will share some of them with you in the next few posts:

The video below gives some introductions on polymer clays, tools needed and basic techniques. I find it very informative.. Probably better than reading from a craft book. I hope you will enjoy the video as I did. Cheers
