The "About Me" Post

I like to do this every once in a while when I notice I've gained a bunch of new friends. Let's face it...no one is going to start from the beginning to read everything about me! (Actually I did get an e-mail saying that a reader did...that's dedication!) So, in order to catch everyone up and make sure we are all on the same page....here's some stuff about lil ol' me! And some seriously photo-overload!

I'm Nicole. I'm 25.
I'm from Massachusetts.
I graduated from FSC with a degree in History in 2008.

In June 2009 I randomly moved to Carrboro, NC to live with a friend.
Shortly after that I met Danny.
Five months later I moved out of my house and in with Danny's parents.

Me and Danny got married on March 13, 2010.

Hubby is a Marine.
We live in Jacksonville, NC. And I love it.
We travel alot and love one-tank-trips!

We have a shepherd-mix puppy, Miley.
Danny has a 6 year old son, so that makes me a step-mom! The term makes me oddly uncomfortable for some reason.

I've been to England, France, and Ireland.
St. Thomas, Aruba and Jamaica.
Disney atleast 8 times!
And every state that touches the Atlantic Ocean.

I love food. I haven't met one that I don't like.
I love beer, wine and margaritas.
I also like cover bands...and pretending that I know how to dance!

I have amazing friends all over the country...mostly thanks to this blog!
I have met fourteen girls because of our blogs! I bet you're wondering who? Well, I'll tell ya!
Click the pictures to go visit their blogs!

Katie from Like Sunshine After Rain
Breanna from Forever Yours, Semper Fi

Reina from Semper Gumby...the Return of Sunshine, Amber from Goodnight Moon and Jordan from Southern Hospitality

Allie from My Marine and Me
Carmen from We See the Same Stars
Mrs. P and Ari from A Little Pink in a World of Camo
Jennifer from Colwells in Carolina
Jacque from Life Along the Way
Bonnie (and her kiddos!) from The "Sometimes Single" Mom
I don't have pictures to prove it but I've also met Lauren from Young But Not (Completely) Dumb, Anna from Showtimes and Dog Tags and Mrs. Gambizzle from Life as a Sailor's Girl (but that's okay because we're spending two weeks in Boston together soon!)

What else do you want to know?
I'm a lefty.
I once broke my sisters collarbone..while practicing a NSYNC dance move.
My first concert was NSYNC, the last concert I went to was Paul McCartney.
I've seen Kenny Chesney 16 times. And met him once....in Best Buy.
I've literally bumped into David Copperfield in NYC.
And I've dined next to Maya Angelou at the Mesa Grill.

I sell Avon. Just like everyone else in Jacksonville.
I have seven tattoos and want more!
And currently....I'm craving Chinese food.

Vintage Halloween

Are you going to the party?
Amber and Melissa are throwing a Halloween bash!
All you have to do is share some vintage Halloween pictures, link up,
and you could win!

In 1991 I was a clown.
That's awful...because I hate clowns!
But I think it might have something to do with this Halloween.
My only memory of it is my cousin stealing my wig..and making me cry!

Another year I was a cat.
Actually, a fat cat.
It must have been cold that year, because under my costume is a winter jacket!
But my favorite part of this picture is the mullet on my Uncle Mike...which is not a Halloween costume!

What are you waiting for?
Go grab some old pictures and join the party over at Goodnight Moon!

This is Me.

Over the past week I reached a huge blogging milestone...over 500 followers! My longtime followers know a lot about me, but for some of the newer ones...this post is for you.

My name is Nicole.
I'm obsessed with blogging. I blog about my daily life, wants, dreams, goals, my family. I generally don't blog about things that will make people angry...except that one time when I blogged about the things I hate about the South.
I have a mutt, Miley..she will be one in November. Miley has a puggle cousin, Roxy, who lives in Boston.
I do not believe in boycotting companies who do not donate to the troops (ie Starbucks.) Not every company can help every cause, Starbucks does A LOT with rainforests.
Speaking of rainforests, I do not buy any Kleenex brand products.
I believe if you love someone you should be able to marry them, I am 110% FOR gay marriage.
I think Planned Parenthood is a great thing, but only when used appropriately.
I do not like know-it-alls. I believe it is the most annoying characteristic.
I do not drive. As in I have no license, never have.
I do not smoke, I don't like smoke and love that you can not smoke in public in North Carolina.
I have read the entire Bible for many different reasons: religious, literature, and for many college courses.
I have a Bachelors Degree in History. My favorite history class was Food History.
Children and the elderly should not be on Facebook.
I'm from Boston. And love all things Boston.

My Favorite Time of the Year!

My favorite season officially begins tomorrow! I love everything about autumn..the colors, the smells, the clothes..literally everything! I know a bunch of us have already started to take advantage of one of my favorite things..pumpkin spiced lattes! Even though it's still in the 90s in Jacksonville, nothing beats a hot pumpkin spiced latte.

Here are a few more of my favorite autumn things!

Starbucks pumpkin muffins. One word: YUM!

Cardigans. I  can never find the perfect one. But I want this entire outfit!

I miss New England apple picking. Does anyone know where you can do this in North Carolina?!

I love decorate pumpkins, fake ones, real ones, they just scream fall to me!

I think I'm one of the few people who really likes candy corn.

Everyday I find a new pair of boots I like. Today I'm obsessed with these!

And my number one love of autumn...Halloween Oreos.
I don't care what you say...they taste better than the regular ones!

I can not believe I have over 400 followers. I think I'm a pretty boring person, but apparently my stories are entertaining enough to keep you guys coming  back for more!

I'm jumping on the "ask me questions" bandwagon. There must be something you want to know about me! Once I get a good amount of questions (come on, there are 400 of you....I should be getting a lot!) I'll do a post answering all of them.

So what are you waiting for?!

My Past in Pictures: College Years!

I thought this was a good idea:
Telling my followers all about me
but only using pictures!

Enjoy!

Freshman Year: Yes, I totally put on the Freshman Fifteen
My roommates, the one in the middle was AWFUL.

I was almost kicked out of school for enjoying a little too much whiskey..

The first time I brought the girls to our camp in Maine.

First of many roadtrips to Wilmington, NC (who would have thought I'd be living so close!)

Sophomore Year: The year I decided to lose weight!
I'm not sure why we were so angry!

Me with my favorite band: OK GO!
I like this picture because it was the first time I could fit into A&F jeans!

Junior Year: The year we all turned 21, celebrated Earth Day and I traveled A LOT!
This was taken in Ireland. I would go back in a heartbeat!

I met another favorite band: THE HUSH SOUND!

I sunburn easily, so I sat like this in St. Thomas!

Before I even lived in NC...we were on the local news!

This was Earth Day. No alcohol was consumed.

My friend once dated a Chippendale...

The girls I used to work with! I love them!

Me and Chad Michael Murray...best buds.

 Senior Year: MY FAVORITE  YEAR!
I had 5 different costumes this year! I was a wench at this party!

I got very very drunk at our Chrismukkah party. I don't remember putting my cape on...

 The best roommates EVER.

I danced on a bar in Aruba!

We made awesome Earth Day bags!

I made Veronica's birthday cake! So so yummy!

We drove 6 hours to go to Sonic and Joe's Crab Shack. Then turned back around to go home!

Me and my parents! I graduated with a BS in History
Class of 2008!

 My graduation brunch!

 Ashley's graduation luau!

I miss college! A LOT!
Okay, maybe I just miss living with my best friends!

One Year Ago...

One Year Ago..
I moved to North Carolina
to live with my friend, Melissa.

My plan: To live away from home for one year then move back to Massachusetts.
Dad said, "you're going to stop being friends with Melissa and meet a guy."
My response, "Dad, not a chance."

And look where we are.
Melissa hasn't talked to me (in a civil manner) since July!
I've been married for almost three months!

So. Instead of moving back to Massachusetts
I'm a wife, a puppy-mommy and a step-mom!
woah.
My first outing in North Carolina.
Bojangles!

(ps. taking the weekend off from blogging again! Guest blogging will happen on Sunday....be sure to check that out! If you are interested in being a guest blogger, please e-mail me fsc200408@yahoo.com)

Me Me Me!

In the past week I have seen my Followers list grow...rapidly! I love getting the daily comments from everyone..each and every one of them make me smile! You girls are awesome!

Anyway, this post is going to be my "Introduction." In over 100 posts I don't think I ever did an introduction. So, here we go!

I think this is a good place to start. This is my Mom and Dad. Aren't they cute? They grew up next door to each other. They have been married for 28 years. Anyway, they had me in 1985. I was a way cute baby. Need proof?

My name is Nicole. I was born and raised in Massachusetts, about a half hour away from Boston. And honestly, I think it's the best place ever. Four years after I was born..I got a little sister. I wanted to name her Sally, but they chose Michelle instead. I think she's pretty darn cute too!

I had a pretty sweet childhood. I have an amazing family. We have a house on a lake in Maine and we spend weekends there during the summer.
I started taking dance lessons when I was three. You wouldn't know that if I didn't tell you..my dance moves are a cross between Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Elaine from Seinfield. Sorry Mom and Dad for the colossal waste of money.
Skipping WAY ahead, I went to Fitchburg State college. I have my bachelor's degree in History. I loved school and I miss it like crazy. I have an awesome group of college friends. Here's me, Veronica and Ashley making fun of our least favorite college "friend."
I love love loooove to travel. I've been to England, France and Ireland. Ireland was amazing and I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Islands are my favorite! Here are my favorite islands! (uh, can you sense a theme in these pictures?!)
St. Thomas
Aruba
Jamaica

Yes, it's true..I like to drink. I especially like to drink while listening to live music. Remember the bad dance moves I told you about? Yea...those come out then!

I love food. I love cooking. I love wine. Oh, and I love my family. Look at these goons!

So now, you're probably wondering how Danny figures into my Boston loving-Island hopping-bad dancing life. Well, I'll tell ya!

Last year I decided I was moving to North Carolina. Random. Very random. I gave myself 4 going away parties, and convinced everyone I would be back in a year. No questions asked.
All the girls at ONE of my going away parties

I joined a dating site, as a joke, and met Danny! Our first date was at a beach. Then dinner and lots of Blue Moon. The rest is history really. He met my family on Labor Day (thats also when he had his first scorpion bowl!) We were engaged in October, I met the rest of his family in November, we spent Christmas in Boston. And were married on March 13! All the juicy stuff is hidden in the pages of this blog!

Oh, and one time I traveled 6 hours just to eat Sonic. THAT'S dedication!
