EtsyBlogger of the Month: Patch

This girl has it going on! She has 3 shops: 1. A jewelry shop with crystals and bridal collections 2. A vintage shop 3. A supply shop.  You could almost consider Patch a one stop shop!

Patch First Shop is full of Swarovski Crystal jewelry and bridal collections. The jewelry boasts a wide variety of genres of romantic, modern and bohemian, just to name a few.

Patch Vintage Shop hosts an array of tops from many decades. This shop is unique because many of the blouses have been tailor made. She offers tools to help find the right measurements for you and she even gives you a condition rating. So cool to have that because sometimes buying vintage, you never know what you're going to get.

Patch Supply Shop is real fun! She has brightly colored plastic boxes, handmade velvet jewelry bags and my favorite, the origami paper flowers. They're made with post its!

All her shops are easy to purchase from and so much of it can be custom. She's flexible and works with each of her customers.

If you're into blogging, she's into blogging as well. She has two of those as well. One on Blogspot, Welcome to Patch's World and Wordpress, Patch's Diary.

EtsyBloggers: July 9th Blog Carnival - Contentment

Topic to blog: July's birthstone is the ruby which symbolizes contentment, blog about the colors red/ruby/ or what you need to be content.

This is a challenging topic for me. One, red is not one of my favorite colors, which probably explains why two,  I've never considered myself in a content state.  Since I can remember I have had thought after thought run through my head, that even my thoughts had their own thoughts. haha.

I find it strange that red would be considered a color of contentment. To me, red is too energetic and stimulating.  I do have a few pieces in my shop that are red. Just because I don't like it, doesn't mean others don't. I can honestly say, I do not own one piece of red clothing. I'm a pale skinned, freckled faced red head. And the combination of the 3 and the red shirt only makes me look a little green. The other 4 red heads in my family have the same problem. Anyway, back to the red pieces I can talk about. I made the red pieces fun and exciting. To me that's what the color resonates for me.

Etsy Blogger of the Month: Sykin

Calling all fans of Twilight! One Stop Twilight Shop is just one of two shops Sykin has on Etsy. In this shop you will find all things for those who are  Team Edward or Team Jacob. If you do not find what you are 'dying' for, Sykin takes custom orders. This is great for the upcoming holiday season to give to your teen or someone else who is gaga for Twilight.  If you live near St. Helen's, Oregon you can see One Stop Twilight Shop's work in person! Her jewelry is now presented at the Experience Twilight Store.

If vampires or werewolves aren't your cup of tea, you can step over to the calm side and enjoy the other works of arts in the Sykin's NW Wonders Shop on Etsy. You can find lovely photo prints of her adventures on the Pacific Northwest coast. There are several affordable photo prints that could be grouped in your hallway or tranquil guest room.

You can find Sykin all over the web!

She generously features an Etsy item everyday and holds other surprises on her blog.

Etsy Blogger of the Month: BeadedTail

What a great person for the Etsy Blogger Team to chose as the blogger of the month. A BeadedTail is animal friendly! Sharla makes her jewelry along side her 2 cats, Angel and Isabella and her Husky, Sadie. A portion of her sales go to animal rescue organizations. In the past 2 years she has donated over $1000 to a variety of organizations you can find on her blog.

My favorite Disney movie is 101 Dalmations.  Check out these cute earrings that would be great to wear while watching the movie!

For the cat lovers out there...look at these abstract cat earrings!

Be sure to make BeadedTail a favorite shop because we are or have friends that are animal lovers and would appreciate a unique gift from her shop!

Etsy Blogger of the Month: Handmade by Sandi

This girl knows how to celebrate! Her birthday is this month and she is celebrating by offering 50% off everything in her shop! She has a variety of items in her shop. My favorite are her Boo Boo Bunny's. Sometimes the boo boo isn't that bad, but it sure helps the calming process to give you child a little something to make it all feel better.
Now while the kid is nursing his or her wounds, mom can sit back and have a margarita. Cute little charm earrings.

At Handmade by Sandi, she's got all your birthday and holiday gifts covered. I find that teachers would be especially grateful to one of her crochet items. Here are other great gift ideas that you can peruse at your leisure.

Don't forget to stop by her blog too! We are bloggers afterall.

EtsyBloggers: May 10 Carnival

This month's blog carnival is hosted by Made by Melissa.

Topic: What is your favorite material to work with and why? i.e. glass beads, wool yarn, acrylic paint, organic fabric... Show pictures of completed projects using this material.

I have grown fond of all beads Jasper. I just love all the different varieties. I have worked with red and teal paisley. The teal paisley I found in a small shop and I just fell in love and just had to have them. Silly me though, I haven't kept any of the pieces I've made them with.  Both of these items are sold, but they're some of my favorites. I like that each piece is so natural and each one is different.  I can buy a strand of red jasper, and not one bead is identical. I like the earthy feel and they can go with just about any bead. I've worked with polished jasper and they're so smooth and soft.  This website is very interesting and tells a little more about the beauty and meaning of jasper.

Etsy Blogger of the Month: Magdalene Jewels/Magdalene Knits

Why was this blogger chosen by the Etsy Bloggers team? Here's why...

"Pam of MagdaleneJewels is a friendly and talented member of our team! She has been an EtsyBlogger since September of 2008. She is a very supportive member of our team, always joining in on our team events, popping into the weekly forum thread, and she also does a fantastic job of managing and also posting our EtsyMini Mondays event for the team!"

Do you like Swarovski? You'll appreciate this shop. Most of Magdalene's creations are made of Swarovski crystals. So the jewelry is sparkly and they are full of bright and rich colors.

Not only does jewelry serve as an outlet for creativity, so does her Magdalene Knits shop.  Here you will find some of the cutest handknitted baby items. You'll find sweaters, nursery decor and the sweetest booties. My favorite is this yellow sweater and bootie set for your newborn 0-9 months.

Since we're the Etsy Blogger team, of course you'll want to be sure you hop on over to Pam's blog.

EtsyBloggers: April 23 Carnival

This month's Carnival topic is presented by: http://joeyandaleethea.com/blog

"4/23 is my birthday!! Tell us your birthday and what astrological sign you are.
Do you ever read/follow your horoscope?"

My birthday is February 10, making me an Aquarius. My personality is that much like an Aquarian. I read my horoscope on Facebook, or my mom, who is very cosmic and astrology savvy, will occasionally read and send me my horoscope.  They are usually pretty on target. I enjoy reading and hearing them.

I found more information about Aquarians here but I copies the information below.  You can also find more information about your sign there as well.

THE Zodiacal Sign of Aquarius commences on January 21st, but for seven days, being overlapped by the "cusp" of the previous sign, it does not come into full power until on or about January 28th. From this date onward it can not take its full strength until February 19th and is then for seven days gradually losing its strength on account of becoming overlapped by the "cusp" of the incoming sign Pisces. Those born people who were born in such "cusp" usually take from the qualities of both signs. These natures generally tend to feel very lonely in life. They are over-sensitive, and easily wounded in their feelings. AQUARIANS have great desire for material gain, but are not greedy. They are tireless workers and are willing to work for what they want, and do not demand more than their fair share. They read character instinctively, and for this reason they "see through" people too easily to be really happy.

People who were born in February are not demonstrative in affection, but feel very deeply.

They are usually high-strung, and their nerves are generally overwrought. This people often lose control and then say or do things that they bitterly regret later.

They are generally very active for the public good, and often give all they have to relieve the distress of others.

They are good thinkers, and are very successful when it comes to debate and argument, and difficult to convince.

They are excellent in business and finance when they apply their minds to such things, but usually they are more successful for others, and make more money for other people than for themselves. Such people are a seekers of knowledge, rational, open-minded, gifted with breadth of vision.

If people born in this sign manage overcame their sensitiveness and developed their will-power, there is no position they would not be able to attain. They are usually successful in some large sphere of action, where they can feel their responsibilities for others. As an idealist AQUARIANS would like to see that everybody is happy and their ambition is to do something important and meaningful.

They take a great interest in public meetings, gatherings of people, and public ceremonies. In spite of the fact that such people love theatres and concerts, and like to be where crowds of people congregate, they often feel lonely.

If born with money, these people rarely show who they are. They are inclined to let their opportunities slip, or realize them only when it is too late. If, however, people born in this period belong to the lower order of humanity they inclined to lose all sense of honor and principle, and are extremely unreliable, tricky in money matters, dishonest, and unscrupulous in gaining what they desire.

As a lovers these people are full of surprises. They simply cannot be happy or fulfilled unless they are free to do as they like. No matter how deeply in love these people may be, they are never willing to sacrifice their autonomy, but they always put honesty ahead of romance.

In general, it is not true that all people who were born in this time are evil people. In fact, those with the Sun in Aquarius are sometimes «one set against many» against great odds or against an institution; for light are at enmity with darkness in the same way that lions are at enmity with hyenas.
Aquarius - The Sign of the Water Bearer
The Aquarias' symbol is the man, who is holding two vessels in his hands : one contains alive water , another - dead. It symbolises the division between good and evil, black and white. It is in the Aquarias' nature to be interested in science's advanced achievements. For example - computers. In general ,he loves to use any modern technical achievements. Sometimes, he shows such a great interest in them, that they can replace contact with people at all. The inner world of people who were born under the sign of The Aquarias is very unstable. There are rather frequently the revolutions take place. That is why these people are usually moody . Though the Aquarias loves everything new he can find there something old .
Friends
They tend to collect friends the way some people put together an art collection. The typical AQUARIAN may have so many friends, but very few confidants. In real friendship or love they get on best with those born from May 21 to June 20, October 20 to 27, and, as a rule, with those who were born in November.
Health
These people are inclined to suffer most from the stomach, often through the nerves of the stomach in some peculiar manner that is difficult to relieve with ordinary medicine. Bad circulation often troubles them and there is often some delicacy of the eyes.
Color
The most favorable colors for them are all shades of what are known as "electric shades," as electric blues and electric grays.
Stones
The birth stones for the period are sapphires, pink topazes, and moonstones.

February 14th is Valentine's Day. What is your best childhood memory of Valentine's Day or What childhood tradition do you now carry out with your children?

My best childhood memory of Valentine's Day is when my mom would set out a Valentine treat after we were asleep so we could wake up to the surprise. She placed it at our seats at the kitchen table. A cute little note with our Sweethearts or small Russell Stover Chocolate box. It was a different treat every year. She did this until we no longer lived at home. Each morning that one time of year was always a surprise and made your day.

June means Roses!

It's time once again for the Etsy Blogger carnival - I've been planning on writing a post all week and kept getting side tracked! So once again I'm being a bad girl and writing mine at the VERY last minute! This week's theme is:

1) Schools Out For Summer! What are your summer plans or share your favorite end of the school year story.
or
2) June symbols - June's birthstone is the pearl or moonstone. June's flower is the rose. Share your favorites or stories or blog on June symbols of your own.

Well since my store NAME is Rose Works Jewelry - it's only appropriate that I focus on roses don't you think?

I've always loved roses. Which is kind of odd since I grew up a total tom-boy. Of course, while we're on that subject, it's rather odd that the tom-boy grew up to be a jewelry artist...

I don't know what it is about roses that draws me too them, I just always have been! I think part of it is just how many petals they have nestled in there. I've been teaching myself to draw, and if I ever get to the point where I can draw that beauty I'll be sooo ecstatic you have no idea!

Looking in my shop...I actually don't have anything with roses at the moment! I need to fix that... So here are a couple of great finds from Etsy that are roses :D
