Featured Crafter: A Slice of Delight

I met A Slice of Delight on Twitter. She was promoting sliced fruit soap and I LOVE yellow. I had to take a peek. I just had to have the Lemon Coconut Citrus Slice. It would go perfect in my yellow themed kitchen. Hillary creates the neatest glycerin soaps that made my mailbox smell so good when I opened it. The sweet coconut scent took me back to times of beach vacations. Such wonderful memories.

What I like most about her soaps is that they are so unique that they would make the best gifts or even gift baskets full of different soaps. There are colors and scents for anyone, even the man in your life could use the Spellbound Woods Soap as seen on the left. I can just see May Flowers (From April Showers) Soap in a little girls bathroom.

Hillary is positive, energetic and so eager to share her experiences in making her soaps, you almost feel a part of the process when you get your very own slice. You know for sure, they are made with love by her own two hands.

You can find A Slice of Delight online and at various fairs and shows in the Berkeley, CA area. Visit her shop for her latest show schedule. She will be at Cerrito Vista Park on July 4th. You can also find her on Facebook and on Twitter. She's always game for some chit chat. I'm so glad I checked out her shop on Twitter, because now I have a new Twitter friend that I'm always happy to see online.

In the Kitchen with some Coffee

The current Blogfire blog carnival theme is to either show off your work space - or talk about items in the kitchen! Now I was planning on showing off my workspace, but I've been having migraines all week and so getting it presentable enough to show off just wasn't going to happen. So I went looking for some fun kitchen items! In a coffee theme of course, because I love coffee! I used to be a total caffeine addict...but that's an entirely different story.

The Country Workshop has this plaque for sale - isn't it darling?
I'd certainly put it up in my kitchen! (Much to my hubby's chagrin)

I have to confess that I already have a towel and oven mitt set that's coffee themed.
AND, to my shame, it was bought in a big retail store.
BUT someday it will need replacing,

What would the kitchen be without some good soap?
DECA candle and bath has some COFFEE soap - does it get any better?

Now I must stop dream shopping...

Amy The Awesome of BlockHead Radio

Thursday night I had the privilege of sitting down with the Amy the Awesome and interviewing her live on the air! Many followers of BlockHead Radio are already familiar with Amy. This wonderful gal has a passion for life, and as a part of her passion she has done a lot to support BlockHead Radio! In fact, she's now on staff here, and doing a fantastic job of helping maintain the blog, and promoting BHR to the masses.

Amy is a stay at home Mom with two rambunctious boys. When I asked her why she had named her etsy shop "Mamas Little Monkeys" she told me it was because it sounded a lot better than calling them rascals! Sounds like normal little boys to me though, and she obviously loves them a lot.

On top of taking care of her boys and her work with the radio, you can find Amy doing lots of fun creative things and spreading that creative goodness all over the web! On etsy you can find her under MamasLittleMonkeys and FleurdeInk. She's also a faithful member of CafeMom and she sells on several other venues as well! Unfortunately I don't have every one of her links to share with you.

In her shops Amy sells childrens clothing, recycled crayons in fun shapes, photography, graphic design, toys, soaps, pretty pens, and whatever else her awesome mind comes up with! Do you have kids? Then Amy probably has exactly what your looking for!

Did I mention that Amy blogs as well? She does a lot of the blogs posts here on this BHR's blog, and she has her own blog! So head on over to it and learn even more about Amy! Plus you can get to know her better by tuning into her show, Mom's Cafe, Wednesday night at 9pm on www.blockheadradiolive.com.

Did you know Cows make Soap?

They do! Really! One of the most active team mates on the Etsy Bloggers team is affectionately referred to as Miss Moo, because she is the proprietor of spottedcowsoaps :) I was tickled pink earlier this month when I discovered that she was our featured blogger - because not only do I love her as a person - but I had an order for some of her soap on the way! I don't know why I haven't gotten around to posting this blog before, because the instant I smelled my order I fell in LOVE! Here's what I got...

Sparkling Champagne Bubble Bath

Both smell utterly devine - and I use the Whipped Vanilla Scrub  every single day! I'd use the Sparkling champagne bubble bath more if I could afford to buy it constantly :P Back to the sugar scrub though...

I've always LOVED the smell of vanilla, there are few other smells I love as much, and this soap is perfect! Not only does it smell devine, but it feels wonderful on my skin! My husband says I smell yummy :) I agree :) I could lick my skin! Of course eating soap is a bad idea...which is why I'll never be able to buy this soap...I'd never be able to resist!

Chocoholics Unite Soap

I'd put up a pic of what I'll buy next - but I can't make up my mind! I'm also kind of betting she'll come out with new scents by the time I finish the sugar scrub, so what's the point in making up my mind now?

Anyway, here's too Miss Moo, one of the greatest Etsy Bloggers around!

Time Management - Don't Forget to Take Care of Yourself!

This is my last post, for now, on the Time Management series! I'll be returning to the promotions series sometime in the next day or two.

I've been amazed, as I've worked on this series, how appropriate the timing has been for me, as well as many other people!  A lot of my etsy friends have commented that it's really giving them the ideas or the push that they need, and there's nothing better that I could hear! I'm glad that my work can help you guys out, even in small ways :)

For me, it's been a helpful reminder as I deal with life being hectic.  Not only are we headed into the holidays, I have a lot on my plate with my personal life.  I've found that, since I started making my to-do lists again, I'm getting a LOT more done! It's still frustrating at times as my health likes to throw a wrench into the works, but with my lists I'm staying pretty on top of things for the first time in awhile :)

One thing that I've realized is very important, and I mentioned this in an earlier post, is to remember to take time for yourself.   What that means is probably different for each of us.  It could be snuggling up by the fire with a book and a cup of tea, or taking a nice hot bath, or even just taking a few minutes to enter a contest! Whatever it is, don't forget to carve out a least a few minutes each day that are just for you, doing something for you! You'll thank yourself :)

Want something fun to do? Go enter this AWESOME soap giveaway that A Good Witch Too is doing - you could win 6 months of soap to wash the wicked away with!  Here's just one of the lovely soaps she has in her shop - isn't it tempting?
