How to add Glamour and Style to your Wrist Watches

Wrist watches can be boring sometimes; same old leather cord or metal made from silver or gold. Sometimes when the leather gets worn out, it is hard to find a replacement that would give the wrist watch a different look, but there is a fun way to make your boring wrist watch look classy, elegant and unique and I am going to share to you what I did with mine way back 1997.

I have a wrist watch with leather cord that has worn out and I could not find a replacement for it. There are a lot available in the market but I am getting bored with how it looks. We have a craft store back then and I had this idea to make a beaded cord or band to replace the worn out leather cord. I used Beadalon flexible nylon coated bead string wire and stringed several beads of my choice, complementing the color of the face of the watch to replace the old leather cord. I used crimp beads to fasten the end of the string wire and used trigger clasp to finish the piece.

Here is a picture of the wrist watch I made. I used simple steps to make the beaded band. It does not have a professional look to it because I was just beginning to learn jewelry making back then and just experimenting with tools, beads and findings, but even though, I was happy with how it looks and the fact that I was able to make one for myself.

Now you can make one, too and give your wrist watches or old wrist watches a new look. So, try out this video tutorial on how to make a beaded watch.
