Multi-Strand Bracelets and Spacer Bars

Hello crafters! I am Isabel. I know a lot of us love dogs or cats and many of us own one or two of these pets. I, myself, am a pet owner but I am not going to talk about them but the stuffs that I make for them. Now, I am quite fussy when it comes to my pets and I almost treat them as humans, buying them clothes, shoes and stuffs, especially pretty collars like those with rhinestones but they are really expensive and not a lot of stores here in the Philippines cater expensive collars. Since I know jewelry making and still has a lot of beads and findings I made one for my pet, Unica, a 1-year old Chihuahua. I have made the collar last March and gave it to her when she turned 1-year old.

This piece could be a little expensive because I used Swarovski.

I made it multi-strand, about half an inch so that it will be visible on her neck and that her fur will not cover it up. I used Beadalon nylon coated bead string wire, crimp beads, clasp or locks and bar ends for multi-strands. I also used a special finding called a spacer bar. I decided to use a simple one, without any designs or glitter because the Swarovskis are glittery enough to be noticed.

Spacer bars really fit especially for multi-strand jewelries and when the design is intended like a band because the space bars prevents the strands from moving, keeping the strands of beads in place.

Now try making one for your pet, too. The steps are just the same. It is just like making one for yourself, or much better, make one for yourself now! Here is a video tutorial you can watch and follow along in completing a bracelet using spacer bars.
