Phew..I have finally found the time to post this free tutorial up... I am not sure how to name the earrings.. Perhaps we call them star earrings! (Update: someone suggested that it looks like snowflake, so I am calling them snowflake earrings)
What you need to have to make the earrings:
- 20ga (0.8mm) wires
- 20ga (0.3mm) wires
- Some beads - I am using wooden round beads for this pair of earrings.
Steps by steps:
1. Cut 3 pieces of 20ga wires of 5cm each.
Cut a 28ga wires approximately 15 inches long. Wrap few round at the middle of one of the 20ga wire.
Place another 20ga wire on top of the first 20ga wire.
Wrap the second piece of 20ga wire with the 28ga thin wire. for 2 - 3 times.
Place the third piece of 20ga wire below the first piece of 20ga wire.
Wrap the wires around with the 28ga thin wire.
To secure the position, you need to wrap around all the 6 corners between the 3 20ga wires. Always bring the wire to the corner of the opposite direction and wrap for 2 times and move on to other corners.
Cut of excess wire when you complete. Adjust the wires to ensure the knot is place at the middle.
Thread in some beads into one of the wires.
To make a loop, turn the wire to 90 degree with your flat nose pliers.
Use a round nose pliers to make a loop.
Repeat the above steps for the rest of the wires.
You are done! This can be used as a pendant as well! To make earrings, you repeat the same steps for the other site of the earrings. Remember to put up the earrings hook and you will have a pair of beautiful earrring!
In my next post, I will share with you a similar design but it looks like a spider web instead!
