Guest Blogger - Laura's everday Ramblings

Hello everyone, (waves really big and over excited) I hope your weekend was truly bliss.

I am Laura, and I am truly honored that Nicole has asked me to do a little Guest spot on her blog. Please hang in there with me as I can tend to be somewhat scatter brained. I thought really hard about what I should write about. It’s kind of a lot of pressure. I mean its one thing to write really boring stuff on your own blog but you don’t want to discourage or stink up someone else’s.
At first I thought about writing about Music but then I realized that most people like today’s music. So telling you that I think it’s a bunch of crap could be kind of offensive, (BTW, I’m not one to care about offending someone) and as a guest that would be bad manners.  So I will say this… What happened to music that had passion and meaning to it. Music made by talented musicians and not a computer? Music made by people who knew musical scales and what flat and sharp was? Music before auto tune? I’m not saying there are not talented musicians out there today. Not going to lie, I think David Grohl is by far one of the most talented people of our Generation.  What happened to when you went to see a live performance that is what you got. I mean if I wanted to hear your CD I could have just saved my money and blasted it in my bedroom. Why spend the money to go see you live. I mean lets face it, it could be anyone dancing around up there and I wouldn’t know the difference because you just sing to a track. To me it’s nothing more than pure laziness.

Which brings me to the next thing I thought about talking about people are all about blaming others now days. No one takes pride in what they do or who they are. People are always looking for the easy road with a free hand out. (Now I know Nicole’s blog is full of Military families so most of you don’t fit in this group. My husband served in the Air Force and my sister is currently. I have two Cousins in the Army and One who is an Officer in the Navy. I know what it takes and Military families on a whole do not fit into the masses I am referring too.) When are people going to realize there is no such thing as FREE? Someone had to pay or sacrifice for you to get your FREE. Why is it that so hard for people to understand? Is it that we are raising our children to be so lazy and greedy that they don’t truly understand what it means to EARN?  I didn’t grow up with much but my mom always made sure we had what we needed. I never felt like I did without but I also understood at a young age that if I wanted more out of life I would have to work hard  and constantly strive for better. I am so tired of hearing about how we need to take care of everyone. When did it become okay to let taking advantage become the norm?  If we keep saving those who refuse to work hard and strive for a better life, what is going to make the future want too? If I can have everything that the person who went to college and worked two jobs to pay their way through, who fought  blood, sweat and tears to earn the life and fashion in which they dreamed of by simply saying its not fair and I want it and its granted. Then why would anyone work hard. Free isn’t free the people who went to school and worked their way up the latter for the money they make. They did it so that later and life they could reap the benefits not so they could pay for the one who partied for 10 years didn’t get an education and has 5 kids. Why should I have to suffer for your choices? Free isn’t Free it cost someone.  I am just tired of everyone now days thinking things will just be ok no matter what their actions.

There is a right and wrong our gray area in life has gotten too big.  We need a little more black and white.  I’m sorry that this guest blog turned into a rant but living in Texas, and the President being here the other day this has been a big topic on my mind.  I didn’t really mean for this to become a political post and I truly mean nothing negative to anyone reading. Life happens to us all and we do the best with the cards we are dealt. I just think we are forgetting that you only get so many cards and we can’t just keep asking for more.

If you read all of that Thank You, may you all have a wonderfully blessed week.
And a special Thank you to all you Military Families, You sacrifice so much for us all and I personally will never forget it.
