Today was such a beautiful day. I had lunch on the waterfront. The sun was shining. In the background, three dolphins were playing with kayakers. And I was with three awesome girls, Reina, Jordan and Amber.
We had lunch at the Icehouse in Swansboro. We ate outside, with birds chirping in the background, and every once in a while we would see dolphins jumping. I think if the waitress wasn't trying to rush us, we would have spent hours talking!
These three girls are the most friendly, honest and real people you could meet. When I'm reading someones blog I wonder what they are really like. They are just as friendly and funny in person as they are online! We had so much to talk about...and I felt like I have known them forever.
Amber had a surprise for all three of us...champagne! How sweet is that!?
We ended our date with a bathroom photoshoot. I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes advantage of every photo op!
After lunch I joined Reina at a forum with Mrs. Conway. Don't know who that is? Neither did I. She is Commandant Gen. James Conway's wife. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. I listened to a bunch of spouses talking about housing, FRO and other problems. A lot of it, I didn't understand. With all the acronyms that were being thrown around...I feel very uneducated. A LINKS class is in my future.
How funny is it that I've been reading Reina's blog forever and just found out two weeks ago that she lives within walking distance of my house!? I wish I found out way sooner, because tonight me and Danny helped Reina and Dave pack up their moving truck. They haven't even left yet, and I already want to start planning a trip to visit them.
In a weird way I feel like I just completed a cycle. Almost a year ago we helped Katie move into her house..and now we're helping people move out. In a few weeks, we'll be moving more people in. I think this is something I'm going to have to get used to as a Marine's wife!
