Story #1
I believe it was Sophomore year of college, back in the day was Myspace was cool. I had a public profile but only accepted friend requests from people that I knew. One day, I received a message that seemed harmless. This guy was telling me he was new to the town I lived in, told me where he worked, and his favorite types of music. I did my usual one-line-I-could-careless answers. Then he turned creepy. He started telling me about uncles who had abused him. I didn't like what I heard, so I blocked him. Apparently too little too late. He must have had my friends page up before I blocked him because he was able to send messages to some random friends, saying that if I didn't talk to him he would "spread rumors about me." So, me being stupid, unblocked him...and he sent me a message saying he was going to find me. I reported him to Myspace and didn't hear anything for SIX months. By that time I was over it. Anyway, I was so freaked out that I told my uncle, a paramedic in town, who told me he would go to the place he worked and throw tampons at him. It took me a long time to finally get over it. A few months later, my roommates car window was shot out (we went to school in a pretty ghetto place) it was totally unrelated, but I'm crazy and though otherwise. Then, I started getting phone calls from the phone company made for deaf people saying that if I hungup they would find me. Also unrelated, I'm sure. But again, freaked me out.
Story #2
When me and Danny first moved into our apartment, I had a job interview. I don't drive so I walked to the interview. In Boston (and any other place I have ever lived) I never thought anything bad would come of it. However, after I got the job I started my walk home and was chatting with my Mom on the phone. A red truck broke down next to me, I didn't think anything of it...until a woman stopped a few minutes later to say "the red truck just passed you THREE times." My Mom was like "DO NOT GET IN THE CAR!" Well, duh Mom..I'm not a dummy. The lady was like "I'll follow you to your apartment." Kinda creepy, but I believed her. Then, I saw the red truck pass me AGAIN. The lady ended up driving me to my apartment office. I waited there until I saw the truck pass for the last time and my landlord drove me home. It took me a VERY long time to get over this. I think that's the reason I got a dog (attack dog?) and wanted to learn how to shoot guns. Freaked me out SO bad.
Story #3
This past weekend we went to Myrtle Beach. We planned to spend the afternoon at the Nascar Speedway, but it was kinda lame. Me and Michelle sat at a picnic table and chatted while the guys went on some go-karts. One of the (lack of a better term) carnies started talking to us, it was harmless talk about the weather. Then the Guess Your Weight guy came over, I think he even freaked out the harmless-carnie. He started smoking a cigerette and told us that we looked familiar. We said "no, we aren't from around here." He said "that doesn't mean you can't look familiar." Um, ok freak. He went back to "work" and started HARASSING us over his megaphone. Things we think we heard: my name and my dogs name. Things I KNOW I heard: something about my knee and something about "monsters inside me." I tried turning him in but since he is contracted there was nothing that could be done. I, of course, freaked out and am still a little nervous about this. (Was he a psychic, because honestly until yesterday I never posted about my knees hurting and have never posted anything about the Monsters Inside Me. There is a reason I would never go to a psychic!)
Do I have the worst luck? Are they connected? Am I super paranoid?
