Catching up :)

I'm catching up! A lot of this was going to go up yesterday, but I got some bad news that kinda threw me for a loop. I blogged about it here if your interested.

Now to the fun stuff!

First - I was featured on Theresa's blog!

Second - Kayla gave me the "Who Loves You?" Award! I'm not passing it on because I simply don't have the energy - but I do want to send you to her blog, The Eclectic Element.

Third - I'm trying to feature my different etsy teams on my treasury blog once a week each. I just starte doing a rainbow series with them! This week is red :)

And Last (but not least!) here are the latest items promoted or listed in my shops! Tell me your favorite and get an extra entry in the Top Commentators contest! Just think...the month's almost over...new winners to be announced soon!

*blushing* Another Award!

I just wanted to say a big thanks to Creative Critters and Recreational Art for giving me this lovely award today! I can't tell you how special that makes me feel :) I'm being a spoil sport and not passing it on - because I've done that recently - but make sure you check out these two great blogs by clicking on their names!

There's a lot going on in my life lately, which some times leaves me a little brain dead when it comes to posting! But then you guys make it easy for me by giving me awards! How special is that? This one, the Premio Meme Award, comes from my dear friend Kayla over at The Eclectic Element.

Kayla was such a sweet heart - this is what she said about me: "Ruthie over at Rose Works Jewelry-Ruthie is one amazing person and I think we connected because we have a similar plight. Just like most of the other 'challenged' people I know(I used challenged because it seems so much better then 'sick'), she overcomes her problems and works past them =]"

Now I'm supposed to share 7 facts about myself and pass this on to 7 people so...

1. I have Crafty AdHD - I can't stick to just one thing!
2. I used to be a swing dancer, and I really miss it!
3. I own over 300 books.
4. I was born a full month after my due date - and Mom says I've been stubborn ever since!
5. Purple is my FAVORITE color! In case you hadn't guessed...
6. I'm only 26...but I've lost half an inch in height - crazy huh?
7. My life time goal is to grow up to be one of those eccentric old ladies that everybody loves!

Now for my 7 people...

1. Splendid Little Stars - because even through life's tough times she smiles and encourages others!
2. Beaded Tail - Because she simply rocks my world!
3. Memories for Life - I bet we'd hang out all the time if we leaved anywhere near each other :P
4. Nothing Like It - because her sense of humor is incredible!
5. My Art and the Mom in Me - Because she's so sweet.
6. Spirit Essence Art - I love the challenge she's set herself!
7. Little Studio Photography and Jewelry - because her comments always make me smile ;)

So what's been going on with me? Well, it's finally come to the time where we've decided I need to apply for disability. Let's just say it's a ton of paperwork and a very emotional process.

I'm also hard at work filling my Artfire shop! I just listed these earrings tonight :)

And just so this post isn't ALL about me - don't you just love this piece by my friend Huck? Her name is Bitty.

YART, EBW Challenge, and an Award!

So much going on it's hard to even know where to start! The first is that I'm participating in the YART sale on Etsy! What's that? Well, apparently if you marry the words "yard sale" and "art sale" to each other, you get YART sale. Don't ask - it wasn't my idea - I'm just participating! So what IS the sale?

I'm doing FREE shipping WORLDWIDE!!! PLUS if you purchase $25 or more - you'll get a FREE GIFT! Now how cool is that? If you've been looking to shop in my store - now is the time! www.roseworksjewelry.etsy.com Sale runs through the 14th.

Next - the June Challenge for the Etsy Bead Weavers is up! Go visit the blog and vote! I'm exctra-super excited about it this month because it's my first time entering! I'm entry number 5. Don't feel obligated to vote for me, but PLEASE do go check out the entries and vote for one of the team!

Lastly, I received a blog award! Thanks go to Teresa of Elegance by Mode for giving me the award. I have to admit that I'm a spoil sport and I'm not going to pass it on to the 15 people required... I tend to be lazy when it comes to these things :P

Oh! And I had my 70th sale in my etsy shop today! *dances*

Feeling the Love - Sharing the Love :)

Once again it's time for me to catch up on recognizing those wonderful people who've given me awards! I know I'm a bit of a party pooper because I don't pass them along - but I do want to at the least acknowledge these awesome people that think, for some odd reason, that I'm awesome! Go figure :P

Before I start though, I have to sadly admit that I lost a blog award! I don't know what's going wrong... Ok, so to back up, I have a notepad that I put any blog awards I receive in because I usually don't have the time or energy or whatever to blog about them at that moment. And then I periodically try to "catch up" and do a blog about them. Well the link to this one's not working :( I can't seem to find the blog at all! So sad :( So if your the one who gave me the award - I'm sorry!

Ok, on to the fun! I have two awards to feature -
the Lemonade award and the Who's Awesome award!
Big THANKS go out to curiousmess and mamaslittlemonkeys for
thinking of me when they received this award :)

I found this awesome bowl made out of FABRIC in curiousmess's shop,
and I want to know how on earth she does that???

And here's some uber-cute pj pants from mamaslittlemonkeys :)

Introducing KSTreasures - and LOTS of other Exciting News!

Whew - there's so much exciting news to share with all of you today that I hardly know where to begin! Ok, I do actually have a good idea, I want to tell you about my new shop :D That's right, you heard me, I have a second shop on etsy!

This shop is the brain child of me and my Mom. I'm so excited about it! My Mom is the one who started me off doing crafts, and she is incredibly talented herself! I'm so excited to get to showcase her work, and hopefully earn her some money here and there of course :P

Ok, so the details, our shop address on etsy is kstreasures, and that's short for Kindred Spirit Treasures! My Mom and I have both always loved the Anne of Green Gables books, and we've always been close friends, so the Kindred Spirit part was perfect. "Treasures" is because we are going to be featuring a variety of pieces from both my Mom and I!

Oh - and I can't forget - the beautiful artwork for my avatar and the banner were done by my dear friend Annette of Huckleberry Arts. I get to interview her in this weeks Thursday Spotlight On Show! Come meet her Thursday night at 9pm EST. :)

Here's some lovely items from our new shop - we'll have a lot more going up in the next few weeks!

On to MORE exciting news!

I've had my first sale of the year! Woohoo! It's not a big sale - but it gets me started on my sales goal for the month :D This is what I sold:

AND I've been selected as this months featured Etsy Blogger! Woohoo! As you probably all know I'm part of the Etsy Bloggers Team, a fantastic team of artisans who all love to blog :) Well, each month our elustrious leader picks a different team member that's our featured blogger. You'll see them featured on team members blogs all over the place. Isn't that the coolest? It's made my month :D Totally made my month! Thanks guys :D

As if THAT wasn't enough loving - I was again awarded a blog award! Woohoo! Here's the short discription that goes with it:

The authors say that blogs who
receive this award are exceedingly charming. This blog invests in the
PROXIMITY in space, time and relationships. These kind bloggers aim to
find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or
self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that even more friendships are
propagated.

I was given this lovely award by the Lovely Purses blog. Make sure you check out her shop on Dawanda - and here's just one of the lovely items you'll see featured there!

I'm loved! :)

I'm honored to report that I've been given the "Spreader of Love" award by TWO of my fabulous friends! That's right, TiLT Creations and Storybeader both gave me this award earlier in the week :) Now I'm a spoil sport and I don't pass on awards - but I do want to give recognition and love to my dear friends who gave me the award!

Theresa of TiLT Creations is someone you've heard me mention frequently recently because she's my partner in crime...I mean blog research :P The two of us have been working together to research the different selling venues that are out there. Did you know that she creates incredible bags? She does! Here's just one example of her wonderful handiwork, check out her shop for more!

Deborah of StoryBeader is a jewelry artist and friend that I admire. Each of her beautiful pieces is accompanied by its own haiku. Make sure you check out her shop!

A Little Bit of Fun :)

After all the serious, business-orientated post that I've put up lately, it's time for a little bit of fun! To start with - I'm excited to report that I've been given a blog award!

Isn't that cool? Now - I'm lame and I don't pass these on to people - mostly because I can't decide who among all my lovely friends to pick! It's not fair to leave some of you out. I do want to say a HUGE thanks to the Simply Sticky blog for nominating me though! Make sure you check out the blog :)

Guess what? I got jewelry stuff for Christmas! My awesome mother-in-law bought me a jig so I can continue to grow in my wire work. I've started playing around with it, but I have a feeling it'll be a week or two before you see anything. I want it to look good!

In other news - remember my Firebird Necklace? Well, I originally created it for a challenge for Team Big Damn Crafters. Fire was first and foremost n my mind as I created this - and I played around a lot to find a pattern I liked. In the end I took a simple pattern for the base, and added on to it!

Well, I knew as soon as I finished this piece that I wanted to do more. I didn't know what colors - but I knew I wanted to do more! It just turned out so beautiful and I'm so proud of it! Well, after lots of thinking, and long conversations with my crafty Mom, I've decided to make this necklace the first in a series based on the four elements. I have the plans written up for the next three pieces, and hopefully I'll start working on the one for Air soon :) It all depends on when I'm able to buy the seed beads I need for it. That and I have a custom order to work on first...

Can you tell that lately I have a million and half ideas lately? Well...you have no idea! :P
