I will probably fall back on my posting for the next few days as Easter is pretty busy around here. Today I have to finish up my Easter shopping. Then I have to make some hot cross buns
and semmel kuchen, which is a bread-like coffee cake with cinnamon, brown sugar and lots of butter. It's an old German family recipe that we traditionally eat Easter Morning with hard boiled eggs and maybe some bacon or sausage. Then I am going to church tonight at 6:30 pm to watch The Passion of The Christ, in which I will be bringing some of the semmel kucken to share...
Tomorrow will bring preparation for a big Easter Dinner. My 14 and 12 year old will be at their father's this year (it's his turn for Easter this year), but we will be having my husband's 25 year old, her husband and their daughter as well as my husband's 21 year old for dinner. The thing that is tough is that everyone has to have their own little special side-dish (myself included with my brussel sprouts that everyone else hates!), so it's not as easy as making ham, potatoes and a vegetable.
On Sunday morning before service, several of us are doing a drama to Nicole C. Mullen's song "One Touch". Here is the video:
Don't worry, it is embedded from GodTube.com. We are just taking the concept of it and I will be acting as "Shame". Someone will be videotaping it and if I can find a way to embed it in my blog, I will share that in the near future. Talk about tears coming to your eyes!
Well, I better get busy...lots to do...lots to do...
Have a beautiful weekend!
