Christmas Eve Festivities

Christmas is always a special time full of family, fun, and remember the birth of Jesus. Since we added Moses to the family last year (I have a wonderful hubby now!) our traditions our changing some.  Mine more so than the rest of the family...

My Mom's family is from Cuba, and the tradition over there is to do your big festivities on Christmas Eve.  Now, we don't get to celebrate with her family very often (their in SoCal), but it's a tradition that's stuck with our family.  We always have our big meal Christmas Eve and then Christmas day itself is more relaxed. This works out perfectly with me being married, because it means that Mo and I can spend Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day with his!

The other big difference this year is it's our first time celebrating with out my brother Peter. He's currently living in Nepal, and while not having him home is always hard, the holidays are hardest.  The good news is - he was able to arrange to borrow a friends Skype account and call us! We had both video and audio for an hour and a half! That was Christmas morning (Mo and I had gone back to my parents house) and it was the best Christmas present I could have asked for :)

If you check out my Flickr photos (see below) you'll see some pics of my friend Kat. No - she's not my brothers girlfriend, just a great friend of ours that we ended up inviting over at the last minute - and I'm really glad we did!

Oh yes - and we had a TON of SNOW this year! It's crazy! Want to see some snow pics? Click on the picture below to be directed to my Flickr set of snow :)
