I Know Why I Blog - Do You?

My friend Terronda, of Unique Commodities, recently wrote a blog post that got me thinking. Terronda writes a wonderful blog called "Random Musings," in which she puts up whatever she randomly is thinking about, and it often has to do with building and promoting your business. I love it! This post was It was titled "Why Blog?" and presented the questions "Why do you blog?" Terronda not only laid out specifically why she blogs, but also gave some great tips on blogging, so make sure you go and check out her blog!

After reading her blog I thought I'd share why I blog! I actually have a LOT of reasons for blogging. Which is probably why I have three blogs...

Ok, so my most basic reason for blogging is because I love to write :) This lets me do lots and lots of that! But let me break it down by my three blogs:

Rose Works Jewelry (this blog):
~ To promote my store.
~ To talk about the creative process.
~ To share a little bit of who I am, as an artist and a person.
~ To promote the teams I'm on.
~ To help encourage and empower other artists.

A note on that last one - My most popular blogs to date have been my blogs on promoting your store and time management.  I've had a ton of fun writing both of those series and kinda dropped off because I was just too sick.  Current plan is to do a new series (promotions related) after the holiday :)

Rose Works Treasury:
~ To share awesome things I find on etsy (and maybe other sites soon).
~ To promote my fellow artists both in general and on my teams.
~ Ok, and I might once in awhile slip one of my own items in :P

A Jedi's Musings:
This is my writing blog - and hopefully I'll eventually be able to participate in the "paid to blog" world.  They like to have the blog established though, so these are my goals while building it, and while they may change slightly after I start getting paid to blog, I hope to continue on with these goals.

~ To improve the over-all quality of my writing by consistently posting quality blog posts.
~ To improve my fiction writing by posting at least one fiction piece (prose or poem) a week.
~ To improve my non-fiction writing by sharing short pieces that memoir pieces or otherwise non-fiction.
~ To share my thoughts on books, movies, web-sites, and anything else I happen to write a review for :P

So that's why I blog - now I'm curious - why do YOU blog?
