I am very glad to get to know Felicia from Beadpassion. We have the same goal and aim to do something out of beading and jewelry making. We are also looking for ways to contribute back to the society. She replied me with the following article as an introduction for herself here:
Well, Jane from young i've always admired people wearing beads and accessories. I would go to accessories counters and willingly let myself carried away with rows and rows of beautiful, attractive accessories. Obviously, can't afford to buy then, but would anyway felt happy and satisfied going home with only beautiful images stored in my memory and of course wish that I would be able to do something like that myself on day.
After graduation, I was busy with my career, my marriage, my family and left no time for beads daydream anymore. Now after many many years, with my children growing into teens, I am not so tight up. So, I wish to wish for my wish again! But things will not happen if you just wish, right? You must do something about it, that's taking the first step. That's exactly what I did when opportunity knocks. I signed up for my classes and that's how it all started. No regrets, only hopeful dreams.
I've been beading quite a lot since, keeping my creativity flows, exploring new ideas and at the same time, enhancing my skills and understanding about this passion of mine. My inspiration comes from everywhere, anywhere and anytime - from magazines, books, my garden, places I visit, insects, nature etc.
Beading is really magical. Throughout my journey with beads, not only have I discovered the creative side of me, it has also bring me friendship. I wouldn't have known you if not because of beads...Your effort in the club really amazed me. I wouldn't be able to achieve so much then, when my children were so little. I can see that you are very dedicated to your work. With the hardwork and discipline, I'm sure it will bring you far. Well, this journey has just started for us, there's still lots to explore. I am grateful for what's happening.
Nevertheless, let's not forget the less fortunate while we are so blessed to be able to indulge in our passion. I hope beaders out there who are already reaping their blessing earnings thru beading, would contribute to charity in whatever way possible, be it monetary or not, little or more.
