WhiteOut!

So, I'm sure you all saw us on the news.  Western New York lake effect snow storm.  At least once a year we make the national news.  My mother in North Carolina was texting me all day yesterday, picking on us that she doesn't have to worry about the snow anymore!  Brat.

Believe it or not, but my town (Alden) got the most snow of any town involved in this little storm.  We got 32.5 inches!

During the storm:

The kids had a snow day yesterday.  I was mad when they didn't have one today, though.  Snow day = Lisa gets to sleep in!  But here is the stats on the poutin', whinny babies:

Buffalo, about 20 miles west of Alden, got over 10 inches and their schools were closed today.
West Seneca, about 10 miles west of Alden, got 32 inches.  They had a driving ban and have no school today.
Lancaster, about 5 miles west of Alden, got 28 inches.  They declared the town a state of emergency and had another snow day today.

Do the math.  Alden got more than everyone else and our roads were clear this morning with school in session.  It's not like West Seneca and Lancaster and Buffalo are not used to this weather, they are just poutin', whinny babies!

Here are some pictures I took this morning showing the aftermath of the storm:

My backyard.   See that lump off to the left in the back of the photo?  Those are pine trees, not bushes!

Back yard again...the vegetable garden.  The snow is almost to the top of the 3 foot fence bordering the garden!

Backyard again...the pool.

And now about Herr Lukas.  Poor Lukie had to crap in the driveway during the storm because the snow line was over his poor butt.  Poor guy, it's like pooping on a shelf!  We all want the poop to drop under us, not on the same level as us!   He loves the snow, though.  We call him Bytor the Snow Dog in the winter!
