Miley's Big Day

Today was Miley's first trip to the vet. After a week of trying to make an appointment at Banfield, we decided we would just do the walk-in. We were there before the store was even open...but after all the "appointments and emergencies" were seen it was about an hour and a half later. About an hour into the wait, I swear other dogs were walking by giving her the "haha you don't have an appointment" look. She was such a good girl while we were waiting...only piddled a little when a big dog scared her!

The vet says she is more hound than beagle (my puppy is going to weight FIFTY pounds!) and older than the 15 weeks we were told, they estimated about 5 months. No fleas, no worms, and no mites. She was given 3 shots, one weird nasal spray, and something that apparently tastes like bananas. She was such a trooper, no whining or anything! We left with fish oil, antibiotic for her scabs, heartworm pills and flea and tick medication. If you're not on the Banfield Wellness Plan, I totally recommend it. You pay about $22 a month and never pay for an office visit, only for medications. Her spaying will cost us nothing! Today's bill before the Wellness Plan would have been over $500, but with the discount it was only $288. Yay for a healthy dog!

We drove out to Raleigh for the day to celebrate Danny's sisters 18th birthday. I was excited because they have a fenced in yard and Miley would be able to run around and be crazy. So crazy in fact that she escaped twice. Thank God my phone number is on her tags!!! My little hound was so proud of herself when she came to the door with a SQUIRREL in her mouth..nasty!

The little shit is as happy as can be right now. I'm pretty sure she's sleeping with a huge smile on her face!
